FiaFia was about celebrating the 60th birthday of our school and to help celebrate, each kid from our school performed in a cultural and entertaining group such as the Samoan group, Tongan, Hawaiian, Hip Hop, Unicycling and much much more. Many parents and teachers also set up stalls to sell food and sweets.
Hearing the bell ring, I look towards the door to find kids flooding through. Squeezing past them, my friend and I run to the library ready to get changed. Arriving at the library, Jorja, Tyla and I get changed into our uniforms and line up for our moko. After that we went to get our feathers and had a few practices. Now we wait for our cue. Being the first ones on it was a bit nerve racking.
Walking up the stairs, I take my place on the stage and start to wiri. While I was waiting for the whaea's call, I smiled and looked out to the humongous audience. "Hope....Takahia!" There was the call. I started our performance and started singing. We did a few songs including both a girls and boys haka, a song that would start off the juniors, and another well known song called Kei he te Tuna. Then we finished with a "Tahi, Rua, Toru, Wha, PUKANA!
Rushing back to the library we got changed and sat down at the back of the other performers. This was truly a very entertaining event.

A Family Holiday
Our task we were given was to write a story spine. If you don't know what a story spine is then I will explain. A story spine is a story this is created by more than one person. First you have to have a main idea. The prompt I got was A Family Holiday. Then you write a beginning. Once you have done that you pass the paper to another person for them to add on. You keep on doing this until you have finished. Then you read it. Here is the Story Spine my group and I did.
Once upon a time on a bright and sunny day, the family decided to go on a holiday.
Everyday the family would go somewhere and explore. But when they got back one of the kids would have to clean the house. Only one child wouldn't.
But one day the family were going to the beach and one of the kids got left behind to clean the house.
Jealously overtook him. Unlucky for him, his favourite band The Beast was playing at the beach. His family was going.
Because of that one of the brothers started to boast because he didn’t get to go.
Without thinking, the boy left the house and went to see The Beast. Nothing would stop him.
Until finally The beast couldn’t play and was canceled. Oh no! The boy was in BIG trouble.
Ever since then the boy was grounded and could never go on family holidays again. NEVER DO WHAT HE DID!
The moral of the story is listen to your parents.

A Silver Key (100 Word Story)
Awaking from my deep slumber, I slowly roll out of my cozy and warm bed into my school uniform. Peeking tiredly outside of my window, I watch my brother playing with the last few bits of frost dripping off the leaves. Suddenly, in the corner of my eye, I catch a quick and blurred glimpse of something shining in the distance. Curious, I slip on my shoes and run out the door. Searching through the foggy mist, I walk towards the frost covered trees. But the only thing that I found, was a silver key lying in the frosty grass.

A Finding Nemo Paragraph
Our task today was to write a paragraph about a small clip we saw. We had to include the speech and the action. Here is the link to the clip.
Marlin laid down on a mossy rock feeling depressed. Trying to cheer him up, Dory swims over and says,“Hey Mr Grumpy Gills, when life gets you down you know what you gotta do?”
“I don’t want to know what you gotta do” mumbled Marlin.
Pulling Marlin down towards the deeper and darker depths of the ocean Dory sang cheerfully. “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim swim”.
Annoyed with her, Marlin strictly shouts,”Dory, No singing”. Still singing, Marlin shouted once again telling her to stop. “Sorry” she replied quickly.
