Taupo Bay

Have you ever woken up to a burning hot morning and said to yourself "Oh my gosh... Can we go for a swim!?" Well for the past few days that's exactly what I have been thinking. That's why, I was glad there was a beach not far from where we were, called Taupo Bay.

Just so you know, Taupo Bay is a magnificent beach not far from Totara North. It's sandy, like each one should be, it has a delightful breeze, some awesome waves and of course cooling water to calm everyone's burning hot bodies.

Arriving near the beach you could see the amazing view from the hill just before the beach. When we got down to the beach, Zane, TuAriki and I raced out with our boards and jumped in the water. As we got in, one wave bowled us over straight away.

Rushing out to the deeper end to catch the next wave, I saw Zane go under quite quickly. Luckily he came back up. Spending 3 hours at the beach that day wore us out and gave me sun stroke. But the next day we didn't go to the beach.

During the whole week we probably went to the beach 2 days and spent a good 6 hours swimming. After this we were burnt on our backs, shoulders, arms and face. Even though we got burnt it was such a great beach!

Where is Chris?!

It was a sunny day and Danny, Emily and Chris decided to go camping at the beach. When they asked their mum she was shocked and instantly said NO. They had no idea why mum was so strict about this.
One night, they snuck out of the house with camping gear, hoping their trip would be worth the risk of getting in trouble, but they didn't know what they were in for. As they walked closer to the beach, more and more excitement grew. Suddenly, all in a flash the kids had reached the beach and realised something had gone wrong. Someone was missing.

Chris must have run off, while they were walking. Danny quickly pulled out his phone and frantically started dialing, until he noticed, no signal. Emily instantly realised this was a very big mistake. “Think!” she thought to herself.

There was nothing else to do but to tell their parents, so they followed the tracks back to their house. Along the way there were many obstacles but that didn’t stop them from getting back home. Arriving at the doorstep, Emily pushed open the door ran to her parents room and found that no one was there.

In the end they did find their parents and Chris and from then on they listened to their mum and dad.
THE END

School Picnic

How many people normally come to your school picnic? Well, we had over 600 kids come to ours. We were lucky we had a sunny day, after all the rain the previous day. 4/4

Once we got to the reserve I rushed down to the new and improved sandy beach and dipped my feet into the water. It was nice and cold. I wished I had my togs with me.

Running over to the clay rock I started scraping it. Soon I had enough clay to make a pot. As I shaped the clay my hands kept getting dirtier and dirtier.

I had lots of fun at the picnic. It was very tiring though.

Uretiti Beach

“Finally!” We had arrived at Uretiti camping ground! It was near a gorgeous beach.

Soon we got to go to the beach. Running up the sand dune, I could hear the waves crashing against the shore. “Hey! Wait up!” said my brother from a distance. I just ignored him and continued up the sand dune.

As I got closer and closer to the water, the more I wanted to jump in. Diving into the water, a shiver went up my spine. It was quite cold. My cousin brang his board with him so we could catch a ride into shore from the waves.

After playing on the board, my dad and I started diving for pipis. We found a great spot full of them. As I dug my foot into the sand I felt a little prick. I quickly dived down and grabbed it while trying to get away from the wave.

It had been a wonderful day out at the beach. Around 7’o, clock we had to go back to the caravan. I hoped that we could go tomorrow.

Christmas

Christmas is nearly here. There’s only 13 days to go to! I CAN’T WAIT!!!

This year we might be having a UMU and breakfast at my Nana and Papa’s house! An umu is like a Tongan hangi! My cousin had told my other cousin and I, that we were going to have a hangi. But he lied!

We also might go to my aunty’s new house to see my little cousin Tahu,  and open some of our presents of course! I love visiting my aunty and cousin’s because the house is sooo big and the bottom room is cool. It's also bright and it’s really nice.

After Christmas we might be going up north, somewhere with a beach. Since my Papa knows someone up there we might be able to get in free? But I don’t know. We’ll just see what happens!
