Getting up is sometimes hard for me, especially on winter mornings. Unfortunately I had to get up. Waking up to a cold room is hard. I knew straight away that the Battle Of The Blankets was about to begin.
I threw my blankets off myself to the side of my bed. Slowly standing up I couldn’t help but jump back into bed. The wooden floor was freezing. "If only we had carpet", I thought to myself. Trying once again, I guess, I managed to do it. I quickly put on my uniform. Finally, today's battle is over. "I know there will be more", I thought in my head.

Portrait
In reading, we have been given a task to paint a portrait of ourselves using Van Gogh's style. Here is the painting I created. I thought it wouldn't be that hard but it took a while!

Starry Starry Night Critique
Starry Starry Night was painted by the unforgotten Vincent Van Gogh. This piece of art was painted in 1889 while VIncent Van Gogh was in France. It is around 73 by 92 cm big, about the same size as the Sunflowers painting.
Shining gold stars are painted onto the blue exaggerated sky. Blue is the main colour. Glowing yellow spots stand out from the dark purple village.
In the foreground, the bold brushstrokes make the tall curving cypress tree look like it’s moving. Almost like a flame. The church, houses, hills and much more are also in the background.
There are many objects in this painting. Two objects that I noticed that stand out, are the cypress tree and the church. I think they stand out because they both have a tall point.
This is one of Van Gogh’s many famous paintings and it is very nice. In fact, this is one of the most famous paintings he has done. If I had enough money, I would probably buy this painting but I think this won’t happen.

Swimming Lessons!
The smell of chlorine filled the classroom. Grabbing my togs, I packed them away, ready to go swimming. I couldn’t wait!
Finally! Grasping my bag, I lined up ready to SWIM. Arriving at the pools, I immediately rushed to get changed.
Hopping in the pool, I felt a shiver run up my spine. First, like usual, we did two laps. Pushing off the wall, I felt myself glide through the water. Getting close to the end I felt someone nearly kick me in the face!
“As challenging as it is, I think I could probably do it”, I thought to myself. Our Instructor told us that we were going to try and swim 6 whole lengths non-stop! “Nevermind I can’t do it!”
Luckily, we got to choose how swam. Straight away I yelled out backstroke! Laying my back on the water, I pushed off and then started to kick. Coming close to the end I spied the flags above me. Quickly heading back to the other side, I saw everyone going past me. Reaching the flags, I felt someone coming close to me. Finally, I reached the end. “Oh” I groaned as the next room walked in. Time to get out.
Tired but happy, I walked back to class waiting for the next day. I couldn’t wait. “Hopefully I’ll be able to swim 6 lengths by Friday” I thought to myself.
